On June 11, 2020 the Tiffany Hill Act became law in Washington State. Named for a domestic violence murder victim right here in Clark County, the law allows for real-time notification of electronic monitoring given to the victim when the abuser/stalker gets within a determined geographical area if the victim of domestic violence has an active protection order. It is 24/7 monitoring where other types of electronic monitoring is not. Just this week a Superior court judge in King County has determined he wants all courts to use my bill as the model when electronic monitoring is warranted. This law is now having positive impacts across the state as highlighted in this King 5 report.
